The Tiger rank consists of 1st graders.  If the scouts joined the Pack as a Lion they should have already earned their Bobcat badge.  If not, each scout will need to know the following and explain their meanings in order to earn their Bobcat badge which must be completed before the Tiger rank can be achieved:

1. Scout Oath

2. Scout Law

3. Cub Scout handshake

4. Cub Scout sign

5. Cub Scout salute

6. Cub Scout motto

At this early age the goal is to introduce each child into the world of scouting through fun and lots of activities.  The leader should remember that at this rank the attention span isn't too long for the young ones.  Plan Den meetings and activities to keep each scout engaged and interested.  Of course knowledge of the topic being presented is critical but hands on tasks are even better.  The foundation of Scouts BSA is started at this level.
