Lion Leader Resources

General Information

The Lion Den started in Pack 628 in the Fall of 2017.  After a very successful pilot program, BSA decided to keep it going forward.  Since the Lion Den consists of children in the Kindergarten grade, the goal is to slowly introduce them into scouting all the while keeping the fun factor as high as possible.

Here are a few tips we've learned along the way:

  1. Keep the scouts engaged.  During Den meetings keep vocal instruction to a minimum as much as possible.  The more active the scout is the more engaged they will be.

  2. If parents are to assist in running the Den meeting print out the activity they will need to lead, review, and discuss prior to the meeting.

  3. Communication is key.  Keep your parents informed of scheduled meetings, any changes to meeting locations and times, and if they are responsible for any activities planned during the Den meeting.
